Mod Podge Rocks! Giveaway

Mod Podge Rocks Book Review by Amy Anderson

This week is all about Mod Podge. We are kicking off Mod Podge week with a book review. Y’all are probably familiar with Amy Anderson and her blog, Mod Podge Rocks. If your aren’t, click on over and introduce yourself. Amy is very friendly and has been a tad bit of mentor for me and my little old blog. Among the many cool things Amy can now call herself, one of those things is Author!

Mod Podge Rocks Book Review by Amy Anderson

Very cool, right? Modge Podge Rocks! Decoupage Your World is full of great information, pictures, tutorials and inspiration. In the letter to her readers Amy said,

Mod Podge is one of the few craft mediums that most people can pick up and use with little training—and get great results the very first time.

And that right there, that is what makes Mod Podge and Amy’s book so cool. You don’t need crazy crafting tools like beading and pottery and many other crafts require. You can use supplies you have on hand, scraps of paper, fabric an old flower pot, etc. and breathe new life into them. The sky is the limit! I love reinventing things and using what I already have.

This book offered me tons of inspiration and sparked a ton of ideas, but I also learned a lot. There is a fabulous break down of all the formulas and what they work best on and great information on different techniques.

The books is broken up into categories: Wearables, Home Decor, & Holiday. There is also a gallery, which includes other people’s creations along with templates to help you carry out any of the awesome projects included.

The directions are clear and thorough.

The projects are useful. Who doesn’t want to dress up a boring old lamp shade?

One of my favorite projects is the “Bee A Deer Suitcase”.

Or at least that is what I tell myself. I love rearranging, decorating, creating, crafting, celebrations, family, and holidays. I share a little bit of all of that and more on Balancing Home. I am married to my college sweetheart (Is that a thing? Well now it is.) and he is a very talented designer. I use him for his skills so I can offer up sweet printables to all of you.
