On behalf of Seattle’s Best, I got to visit the Wisconsin State Fair and check out the #RedCupShowdown by Seattle’s Best. Basically, it was like watching the Food Network, live. Contestants had 5 minutes to create their drink. Judges tried it out and in the end a winner was chosen. I was really impressed with how creative people can be.
Barbara Strahler’s “Chocolate Razz Treat” was awarded the first place blue-ribbon after four intense heats of blending, frosting and razzle-dazzling amongst fellow Wisconsinites
During the competition I was able to snap some photos of the drinks. I always love a pretty presentation.
You may remember me talking about the #RedCupShowdown here. The whole shebang is being hosted by Jeff Mauro, host of the Food Network show Sandwich King.
We enjoyed the show and then headed out to enjoy the fair, which of course included stopping by Seattle’s Best booth. We tried yummy samples of iced coffee (check out all the creative flavors) and enjoyed a photo op in the big red mug.
Yum! Yum! My favorite was the Minty Mocha.
Too bad Eleanor was asleep in the stroller for this picture. We had the MOST gorgeous day and it really was a great way to spend time as a family. The kids really enjoyed the DNR Pavillion. It was very kid friendly. Fish, animals, pretend camping, etc. Eleanor loved the stuffed owl and kept saying, “Owl”. Quinn did the big slide three times! The barn with all the animals was, of course, a big hit. Quinn even got to see a chick hatch. He was very excited about that.
Quinn even got to do the trampoline jumping with bungee cords. He wanted so badly to flip and try as he may, he just couldn’t. When he got off he said, “Did I flip?”. Ahh….to be three again.
To be honest, I am really glad this opportunity came my way. It made us add the State Fair to the calendar, otherwise the time might have just gotten away from us and we may not have ever made it there.
Seattle’s Best is headed to the Illinois State Fair. I cannot believe how quickly summer is winding down. My fellow Wisconsinites can show their support of their local winner by participating in public voting on the Seattle’s Best Coffee Facebook page Aug. 18-22. You can also find Seattle’s Best on Twitter.
Around here, the State Fair kind of represents the end of summer. Whats the thing that makes you think, Man! Summer is almost done? Anything left on your summer to do list? We still have lots.
