Fall Mantle & Printable

The fall mantle is done-zo! I think. I have been known to fiddle, create and tweak, but for now I am calling it DONE :).

If you have been following along you know all about how I created that burlap and fabric flower fall wreath,  the rope vase and the tractor and hay photography. Remember I ordered the wrong size prints? So they get cut off a bit. Really wishing you could see the headlights on the tractor. (shakes fist). You might remember that gorgeous wooden bowl from my World Market post.

And because I love you folks so much I’m throwing in this feast printable in a nice worn orange. Mine is in a frame with an 8×10 opening. Scroll to the bottom of this post to download this printable.

Excuse the million pictures. I love when bloggers post lots of pics with lots of views. I already broke down the wreath, photography, vase and printable. Now that you know where to find those, I thought I would spill on the rest of the “accessories”. For starters, I bought like 5 of those white frames. I was at Micheal’s and they were $9.99. A huge steal! Without their mats they are 18×24, which is one of the sizes of prints we make for out Etsy shop so I just knew they would come in handy. So far so good. We built the shelf for our dining room wall. I was sick of being left out of “mantle” decorating parties, so I made myself a mantle. The giant candles are battery operated finds from T.J. Maxx and so are the three little vases. The candle stands were a Kohl’s find. They were on clearance and I had a 30% off, because that is how I roll.

And yes, those are new curtains you see in the mirror. Another World Market find.

So there you have it friends. A fall mantle. I will have to birthday-ify it for Quinn’s 4th birthday in October and then turn around and Halloween-ify it, only to turn around and Thanksgiving-ify it. I’m thinking this will work for Thanksgiving too. Might throw in some gourds and pumpkins from the pumpkin farm. Not sure what my Halloween plans are yet. I am not much of a planner. I am more of a dig around and piece it together kind of girl. How about you? When you work on a project do you plan the whole thing out or do you kind of create as you go?

Have you fallified yet? By the way, I don’t go crazy changing all of my decor. I mostly pick one or two places and decorate there. Aside from the mantle, I was hoping to create some sort of centerpiece for the table. Come the start of November I will have to set up our Giving Thanks Station, which lives on the peninsula. I try to make that a bit festive.

Hi, I'm Megan--the crazy mom of three behind this blog. Please don't be intimidated by the name. Note it doesn't say BALANCED Home. We hardly have it all together, but together we have it all. Or at least that is what I tell myself. I love rearranging, decorating, creating, crafting, celebrations, family, and holidays. I share a little bit of all of that and more on Balancing Home. I am married to my college sweetheart (Is that a thing? Well now it is.) and he is a very talented designer. I use him for his skills so I can offer up sweet printables to all of you. If you want to learn more randomness about me or my blog, stop by my about page.

I love the printable! My sophomore in college moved to an apartment this year (instead of a dorm) and her kitchen rug is green, teal, hot pink, orange, & red, with big silverware on it. They have next to nothing on the walls so far. She will LOVE this–orange is her new favorite color! Thanks so much for sharing :)

I feel like that was me just yesterday! My room was black & white with pink accents. Sounds like a gorgeous kitchen rug. You are very welcome :).

That’s what her colors were last year (black, white & pink)! The rug is a fun rug I originally saw at Lowe’s but then it showed up at a store called Big Lots for $8! (Don’t know if you have Big Lots where you are–we’re in the KS City area).

We use to have a big lots right here in town. That is where I got my dorm rug my freshman year. I know we have Big Lots in Wisconsin, but I don’t know where the closest one is. Cannot beat $8!

There is a Big Lots on 27th Street in Milwaukee, one in Kenosha and another in West Allis on HWY 100 and Oklahoma. Thought I’d pass that onto you :o)

I haven’t gone to the printable yet but love how it looks on your mantle. We don’t have a mantle, just a half wall between kitchen/l/r. What can I say, we live in a 15 yr. old single wide mobile. Not my first choice but it’s what we could afford. We have 1/2 acre out in country.Love that part mostly.
Your mantle is awesome, love all your goodies on it. Sounds like you’ll be very busy “ify’ing”tings. lol.
When I create I’m really pretty much spontaneous of the moment. If I plan, nothing seems to work out. If I just go for it, much better luck. Not much of a planner and I hate it when people try to pin me down to their plans. TUFF.

A girl after my own heart. I agree, creating as you go is the way to do it. Jealous of all your land! If I ever have money (ha, ha) I want a house with some land.

It looks awesome Megan! I am still fall-ifying here and then there are Halloween creations I have made but don’t want to ‘display’ yet. I’m going to have to find some rubbermaids to store them in for the next few weeks!
